Christina Heyniger to Join Globally Renowned Experts in Addressing Sep. 3-6 Adventure Travel World Summit Delegates

(SANTA FE, NM) – AUGUST 22, 2008: Christina Heyniger, President of Xola Consulting, will join a select contingent of global travel pioneers and experts scheduled to address approximately 500 adventure travel business leaders representing over 250 adventure travel companies, tourism boards, and marketing organizations from around the world at the 2008 Adventure Travel World Summit in Sao Paolo, September 3-6.

Hosted by the Adventure Travel Trade Association (ATTA), Heyniger will serve as a featured speaker at the trade organization’s fourth Adventure Travel World Summit (ATWS). Summit organizers invited Heyniger to the agenda for her specific expertise to co-present a session titled “Creating Competitive Adventure Tourism Markets – Adventure Tourism Development Index.” Heyniger will address Summit delegates along with Indira Palomino of PromPeru.

“Heyniger was asked to join this Summit’s noteworthy assembly of adventure travel experts for her industry leadership, and her ability to clearly convey insights and recommendations about cutting-edge issues affecting the adventure travel industry,” said ATTA Vice President Chris Doyle. “Heyniger and other Summit presenters will collaboratively deliver a potent mix of visionary and practical approaches that will shape a sustainable future for adventure travel.”

Heyniger has been a driving force behind the creation of the Adventure Tourism Development Index (ATDI), a tool supporting entrepreneurs and governments in developing and marketing sustainable adventure tourism products and services. The ATDI provides a framework for benchmarking progress and organizing development projects. It emphasizes areas of potential growth that can directly benefit local communities and encourage environmental and cultural preservation.

“Engaging with the Summit’s influential audience is ideal for addressing and advancing the concept of the ATDI,” said Heyniger. “As one of the industry’s most important gatherings of leaders, the ATTA’s Summit offers a visible stage to illustrate how destinations and the entire adventure tourism supply chain can benefit from the ATDI.”
