
Xola Adds Three Associates to Support Research, Marketing, Public Relations Efforts
(SEATTLE) – June 10, 2008 – Team growth at Xola Consulting includes the addition of summer associates Henrietta de Veer, Paige Stringer, and Casey Jahn, who will contribute to Xola in the areas of research, marketing, and public relations.
The three join Xola Consulting at a time of growth for the company. So far this year, Xola has already secured sustainable adventure tourism development projects in NE India, Peru and Mongolia. With their partners at the Adventure Travel Trade Association, Xola is also engaging the entire adventure tourism industry in the concept of adventure tourism as a vector for development, and is establishing itself as the leading consultancy specifically devoted to the adventure travel space.
De Veer, Stringer, and Jahn offer diverse backgrounds and expertise across a variety of sectors, which will provide Xola with new perspectives to strengthen the company’s already diverse core team throughout the summer.
De Veer brings over 28 years of strategic and financial consulting and transactional services experience to Xola. She has broad expertise across a range of industries and markets, and uses multidisciplinary approaches to help develop and implement successful growth strategies for emerging and middle-market growth companies.De Veer will be leading the development of Xola’s 2008 Adventure Travel Research Roundup, a compendium of data on the adventure travel industry that includes global and regional growth trends and insights and other valuable information for operators, media and travel professionals.
De Veer holds a PhD in Latin American/Caribbean Studies and a Masters degree in South Asian Studies, both from the University of Chicago, and a Masters degree in Japanese Studies from Vanderbilt University. Her academic focus was on international economic development and what makes for sustainable growth among small businesses in developing economies.
Stringer arrives at Xola with 12 years of marketing and public relations experience earned at Amazon.com, the Clorox Company, FOX Sports, and the Wilkinson Group cause marketing consultancy. She specializes in marketing communications and product development.
Most recently, Stringer contributed to the global launch of two Amazon.com consumer products, one of which she is a patent holder. She also led strategy development and implementation of many Amazon.com marketing campaigns for the company’s largest book publisher accounts, including John Wiley & Sons’ Frommers travel guides.
Stringer will focus on Xola marketing and public relations initiatives, and contribute to the development of Off the Radar (www.travelofftheradar.com).
Stringer holds a Masters degree in Sports and Recreation management from the University of San Francisco, and a Bachelors degree in Forest Resources from the University of Washington.
Jahn arrives at Xola with broad experience in advertising sales. She currently works as an advertising consultant with Idearc Media where she produces multi media advertising campaigns and devises creative ways to employ current industry marketing tools to achieve her clients‘ advertising goals.
Fluent in Spanish, she worked for two years in Argentina for Best Institute, one of South America’s premier training firms, teaching corporate executives at companies such as Xerox, 3M and Accenture how to speak business and conversational English.
In her role with Xola, Jahn supports adventure-volunteer tour operator client Step Out Experience (www.stepoutexperience.com), with marketing and sales strategy and implementation).
Jahn has a Bachelors degree in Film from University of Santa Barbara.
